Evil Mythology
Evil mythology included many monsters from many different legends and myths from many different cultures. There were evil monsters in Greek mythology, Roman mythology, Chinese, Japanese, Celtic, Norse, African, Egyptian, and many other countries mythological history. There were monsters in the myths, religion, and legends of the countries. Whether these creatures and monsters existed or not has not been proven but they do make for some interesting reading if you like to read about monsters and heroes.
Some of the Greek mythological monsters were the Cyclopes and Hecatonchires. The Cyclopes were giants with one eye in the middle of their forehead. The Hecatonchires were giants with 50 heads and 100 arms. There were also nymphs and other monsters in the Greek myths. The Anglo-Saxon had Dragons, Grendels, Goblins, Hags, Kraken, Sea Serpents, Wraith, Wyvern, and Wurm.
The Chinese myths included the Azure Dragon, Bai Gu Jing, Bai Ze, Black Tortoise, Chinese Dragon, Dragon King, Dragon Turtle, Water Monkey, White Tiger, Pig Dragon, and many more. The Japanese had Baku (spirit), Abura-akago, Akaname, Azukiarai, Byakko, Inugami, and many more. The Middle Eastern mythology included the Al-mi’raj, the Genie, the Roc, the Ghoul, the Sandwalker, Manticore, Marid, Ifrit, and more.
The Celtic myths included Balor, Banshee, Bloody Bones, Buggane, Clurichaun, Leprechaun, Loch Ness Monster, Selkie, Water Leaper, the Welsh Dragon, and many more. Germanic myths had Drude, Imp, Krampus, Lindworm, Erlking, Ordog, Kobold, and more. The Egyptian monsters were the Ammit, Amut, Duat, Mummy, Phoenix, and Sphinx. Some of the Aztec monsters were Ahuizotl, Cihuateteo, Cipactli, Chaneque, and Xtabay.
These are just a few of the many monsters which have been written about in songs, poems, stories, etc. during the early ancient times of the countries. Not all of the monsters were all bad. The Greek Cyclopes were very big and mean but they were also very talented with metalworks. They made the lightening bolts for Zeus as well as many other things out of different metals. The Cyclopes and the Hecatonchires also helped Zeus in the War against the Titans.
There were also monsters in the Slovic mythology, Scandanavian mythology, Norse, Mesopotamian, Medieval European Beastiary and heraldic Beasts, Mapuche, Guarani, Chilota, Aztec, and other country mythological stories. Some of these monsters guarded something for kings or gods and goddesses. In Greek mythology Ladon was a dragon with one hundred heads and guarded the Golden apples of Hesperides. The history of mythology contained many ugly and interesting creatures and monsters. It is believed today by some that there is still a Loch ness monster, a Big Foot, the Abominable Snowman, and perhaps others in other countries. There are those who have claimed to have seen these monsters in recent years. If they exist, who is to say some of the ones in the myths did not exist.
